Daniel Austin Moody, husband of Shirley Ann Harrod Moody, died March 17th at the age of 85 from heart failure. He was the son of Roy B. and Cynthia Hazel Powers Moody of Scott County.
Dan is survived by his wife of 63 years, Shirley and four children: Carol Ann MacDonald (Hugh) and their daughters Mary Ann and Margaret Belle; John Samuel (Kelly); Richard Anthony (Peggy) and his children Dawn Kaitlynn and Jonathan Evan; Thomas Anthony and his children Catherine Renee, Daniel Thomas, Zachary Taylor, Thomas Tyler & Eli Carter; and several great grandchildren.
He is also survived by one sister Peggy Nelson and a wonderful family of lovely nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dan was a student in the Architectural College at the University of Kentucky, a Journeyman Tool and Die Maker for IBM and owned a home building business for 36 years with his partner and son, John.
Dan was baptized at the age of twelve and has been a faithful member of the Church of Christ his entire life. He was an avid bible student and a capable teacher and preacher of the gospel of Christ.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Saturday at Johnson's Funeral Home, Georgetown. Visitation will begin at 12 PM.
There will be a private burial service at the Moody Cemetery after the service.
Pallbearers are John, Tom & Rick Moody, Hugh MacDonald, Russell Moody, Mike Harrod, Neil Harrod & David Todd.
Honorary bearers are Joel, Larry & Eddie Moody, Larry Pullium, Rodney Kincaid, Mike Barkley and Glenn Redmon.
