Cornelia S. Greene, 98, of Lexington, Kentucky passed away peacefully at Signature Health Care in Georgetown, Kentucky on December 5, 2023. She was born on October 9, 1925, to Harvey Bryant and Mary Bernice Sewell in Henderson, Tennessee but grew up in Memphis, Tennessee.

In 1944 she married the late Addison Ewing Greene, Jr and they had three daughters. During her husband's career, they moved multiple times and eventually retired in Largo, Florida. In 1979 Cornelia relocated to Nashville, Tennessee where she resided for 40 years. In 2020 she moved to Morning Pointe in Lexington to be near family.

Cornelia enjoyed many interests during her long life…sewing, bowling, playing Bridge and solving crossword puzzles. Most of all, though, she loved music and played both the piano and organ by ear.

She is survived by her children, Barbara (Gary) Coughlin of Kentucky; Phyllis (Tom) Schamber of Pennsylvania; and Leslie Greene (Jim Busch) of New York; four grandchildren, Michelle McPherson; Chris Coughlin; Stacey Schamber; and Amanda Busch (step-granddaughter); and four great-grandchildren, Austin and Bryce McPherson and Emily and Jackson Coughlin; sister-in-law, Betty Bryne of Alabama and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Cornelia is preceded in death by her sister, Lorraine S. White and brother-in-law, Andrew M. White, II. A private memorial service and burial will be held at a later date.
