Connie (Carolyn) Swindler Price, age 84, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at her home in Georgetown, Kentucky. Connie, born September 15, 1941 in Shelbyville, was the daughter of the late Earl Goodwin and Margaret Hall Swindler of Cropper. Connie was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Charles Thomas "Tom" Price Jr., and beloved sister Erlene Swindler.

After graduating from Southern High School in Louisville, Connie completed training at Norton Nursing School to become a registered nurse in 1963. From here Connie would go on to build a distinguished 40 year career in the field of community behavioral and mental health services. After serving as a nurse instructor at Norton's for a time, she started her journey as a charge nurse at Eastern State Hospital in 1969. In 1972, she began her 31 year career with Bluegrass East Comprehensive Care, a branch of the Central Kentucky Regional Mental Health Board (created after the passage of the Community Mental Health Act in 1965) whose mission was to serve our Kentucky communities in the areas of mental health, substance use and intellectual and developmental disabilities. At first serving individual patients and families, Connie would soon begin her advance into leadership, ultimately achieving the role of Regional Director overseeing offices and services in seven counties. Connie will long be remembered for her compassion and service to the marginalized and passionate advocacy for the provision of excellent mental health services to our community.

Connie had a soft spirit. A devoted spouse and loving mother, she was also an active member of First Christian Church of Georgetown and completed several mission trips to Costa Rica while a member of the United Methodist Church. She served in leadership roles for the Quest Farm Board of Directors as well as Georgetown Woman's Club. An ardent UK fan, she was also an excellent cook, an avid reader, a birding enthusiast, and achieved the title of Master Gardner. She enjoyed travel, art, the performing arts, and could be found relaxing while knitting, crocheting and needle point. But it was time spent with her family and cherished friends that brought her the most joy.

Connie is survived by her children Stirling Sampson (Kelly) of Nicholasville, Kentucky, Craig Price (Amanda) of Georgetown, Kentucky, Kent Price of Bradenton, Florida, and Amy Price of Bradenton, Florida; six grandchildren, Stirling "Buddy" Sampson Jr., Matthew "Bryan" Sampson, Jacob Price, Charles "Chad" Edwards III, Sydney Tingle, and Alex Price; and ten great grandchildren, Ainsley Sampson, Stirling "Tripp" Sampson III, Oliver Sampson, Seth Sampson, Jude Sampson, Micah Sampson, Noah Sampson, Adaline Tingle, Zoe Edwards, and Lilian Price. She is also survived by her treasured sister Janice Seymour (Bill) of Louisville, brother and sister in laws Larry and Rosemary Price of Georgetown whom she dearly loved, and many adored nieces and nephews.

A celebration gathering will begin at 3 PM Monday, November 24, 2025 at the First Christian Church (chapel) followed by a memorial service at 4 PM, conducted by Rev. Chris Cash.
