Clara Mae DeMoss, 88, passed away Friday, December 22, 2023. Born in Georgetown, she was the daughter of the late Vertner and Maggie Friedly DeMoss.

A retired manager with the Kentucky Department of Education, she was an accomplished quilter and enjoyed flower gardening on her family farm, where she lived since she was a young girl. A faithful Christian, and a lifelong member of the Stamping Ground Christian Church she also served the community of Stamping Ground as a local historian and had an integral role in creating the Buffalo Springs Park.

A devoted aunt, she is survived by her three nephews, Kevin Wayne (Elena) Moreland, Brian DeMoss (Kimberly) Moreland, and Mark Moreland, Ed.D. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Ronald Wayne DeMoss and Patricia Moreland.

Funeral services will be 1 PM Friday, December 29, 2023 at Stamping Ground Christian Church, conducted by Rev. Jeremy Gillette. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 AM til service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stamping Ground Christian Church Memorial Fund, 3210 Main St, Stamping Ground, KY 40379.
