Charles Edward "Eddie" Moody, 74, husband of the late Etta "Tiny" Moody, passed away peacefully at home on July 12, 2025. Eddie was the youngest child of the late Russell and Jewell Moody. Eddie was a faithful member of the Georgetown Church of Christ, where he served as song leader and taking meticulous care of the church grounds and the church building.
Eddie served in the United States Air Force. After his military service, he was a musician, traveling to numerous destinations not only in the state, but throughout the eastern part of the country. Eddie also worked for Toyota Logistics and had recently retired from the Scott County Board of Education.
He is survived by his son, Russell T. Moody, and his daughter, Marydyth (John) Costigan, and their mother Maribeth Moody. He is survived by stepdaughters, Deborah (Joe) Guffey and Marcia (Kevin) Ward, and stepson, Greg Langan, and was also blessed with a "bonus" daughter, LaRena Lucas. He is also survived by grandchildren Brennan Costigan, Britney (Clay) Moss, Hailey Ward, April Lancaster, Shelby Langan, and bonus granddaughter Hayley Ford.
Other survivors include his sister, Janice (Larry) Pulliam, and brothers, Joel (Dee) Moody and Larry (Diane) Moody. He is also survived by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Linda and Rickey Bailey.
In addition to his wife and parents, Eddie was predeceased by his "bonus" son-in-law, Matthew Lucas, on July 4th.
Services will be 1 PM Friday, July 18th at Johnson's Funeral Home. Visitation will be 11am till service time. Burial will follow at the Georgetown Cemetery.
Eddie was an animal lover. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy are suggested to an animal shelter of your choice.
