Born on July 21, 1943, Carolyn Sue (Parks) Bailey, 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, in Lexington, Kentucky, where she was born and raised.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Boyd and Loraine Parks; husband, Ernest Dean Bailey; sister, Angela Brown, and two grandchildren. She is survived by her four children: Deana Elias, Rena Sweeney, Phyllis (Jerry) Manley, and Dan Bailey; her siblings, Boyd Parks and Phyllis Rinegar; as well as 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life centered around faith and family. She was married for 45 years to her beloved husband, Ernest Dean Bailey.

In her early years, Carolyn dedicated herself to raising her four children, who were the greatest joy and pride of her life. After her children were grown, she began a respected career running the circulation department at The Chase Publishing Company, where she worked for many years.

Carolyn was known for her soft but vibrant personality, quick wit, and unforgettable sense of humor. Deeply nurturing, she was often the most caring person in any room. Her unconditional love, guidance, and unwavering support shaped her family's lives and remained a constant source of strength for them.

She found joy in the simple things: baking with her grandchildren, shopping trips, shoes, purses, lemon desserts, romance novels, collecting porcelain dolls, and relaxing in front of the television to watch her favorite weekly shows. Above all, she loved her family more than anything and cherished every moment spent with them.

A visitation will be held Monday, March 9, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Johnson's Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 1:00 PM at Georgetown Cemetery.

Carolyn will be remembered for her strong Christian values, her laughter, her strength, and the deep love she gave so freely to everyone around her. She will be dearly missed and forever loved
