Betty Carolyn (Bryant) Gabbard, 76, wife of Jim Gabbard, passed away on Sunday, August 14th, 2022. She was born on February 7th, 1946 in Hazard, Kentucky, daughter of the late Jesse and Polly Jane (Baker) Bryant. Betty was a member of The Old Paris Church Of God. She enjoyed traveling and her love of music led her to become a life-long fan of The Gaither Band and Homecoming series. Betty was the administrative assistant to the Church Of God State Overseer for many years and she also worked with the University of Kentucky Gill Heart Institute.
In addition to her beloved husband of fifty-eight years, Betty is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James Darian and Marie Gabbard; her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa (Gabbard) Rehmel and Don Rehmel; her four grandchildren, Celeste (Dakota) Jenkins, Brooke Gabbard, Ian Rehmel and Jessica Gabbard; and one great-grandchild on the way; two sisters, Louise (Bill) Baker and Leona Watts. Besides her parents, Betty was preceded in death by five sisters, Aileen Pigman, Opal Begley, Ruby McLaurin, Wanda Benton and Alma Combs; three brothers, Jesse Bryant Jr., Truman Bryant and Don Bryant.
Visitation will be held at The Old Paris Road Church of God, 1859 Old Paris Road, on Thursday, August 18th from 11:00AM until time of service at 1:00PM with Reverend Jack Whitaker and Reverend Anthony Castle officiating. Burial will be in The Lexington Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Don Rehmel, Ian Rehmel, Dakota Jenkins, Wes Ritchie, Scott Baker and Dennis Watts.
