Obituary

Betty Sue Flynn, 89, widow of Arthur Paul Flynn, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2025. Born in Beattyville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Harlie and Cecil Phillips Flynn.

A former cheerleader and graduate of Lee County High School, she attended St. Thomas Episcopal Church and last attended Flatwoods Christian Church, Waco, KY. Betty's first job was in a Beattyville pharmacy as a clerk, then in book stores. After she met her late husband, in addition to being so proud of his devotion to the Navy, she was furiously loyal to him and his 5 children. She was very proud of her sons, Bruce and Greg.

Betty loved to laugh and being silly. Her favorite color was pink, she loved shopping and was a devoted Kentucky Wildcats fan.
She is survived by her sons, Greg (Cathy) Farmer and Bruce (Anne) Farmer; step children, Margaret Fitzpatrick, Michael (Lala) Flynn, Marrianne (Stanley) Slonina; nephews, Larry Newnam and Mike Newnam; as well numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her step children, Maureen Friend and Matthew Flynn; sister, Catherine "Bunny" Newnam; brothers, Jonnie Flynn and Gene Flynn.

Memorial service will be 12 PM Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at Johnson's Funeral Home, conducted by Nick Skinner. Visitation will be 11 AM till service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Flatwoods Christian Church, 263 College Hill Rd, Waco, KY 40385.
