Barbara Sue Burton, 70, widow of Roger Kenneth Burton, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2026. Born in Albany, KY, she was the daughter of the late Obie and Marie Cooper Brumley.

A former CNA, Barbara worked in nursing homes throughout Lexington and Georgetown. She enjoyed bingo, crocheting and time with her family.

She is survived by her children, David "Bruce" (Deana) Brake, Ronnie (Kim) Brake, Anna (Frankie) Jones and Samantha Brake; step daughters, Tammy Almond and Ruth Ann Sanders; special daughter, Zariah Brake; brothers, James Brumley, Danny Brumley and Larry Brumley; sister, Juanita (Bill) Bailey; grandchildren, Dylan Brake, Megan Brake, Haley Mason, Ronnie (Makayla) Brake II, Earon Brake, Elizabeth (Rakim Warren) Royalty and Ashley Royalty; 11 great grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren; 16 step great grandchildren; and the father of her children, Bruce Brake. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Bobby Brumley and Danker Brumley; sister, Brenda Brumley; grandson, Austin Bailey; step daughter, Christina Burton; as well as 3 step grandchildren, Joe Cheney, Josh Sanders, Francis Ann Burton.

Funeral services will be 1 PM Tuesday at Johnson's Funeral Home, conducted by Chaplain David Blevins. Burial will follow at the Georgetown Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 AM till service time. Memorials may be made to Bluegrass Hospice Care.
