Obituary

Alma L. Hopkins, 83, beloved wife of Wayne Hopkins, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025. Born in Lexington, KY, she was the daughter of the late William Ellis and Edna Mae Tipton Holley.

A devoted and passionate realtor, Alma faithfully served central Kentucky families since 1977. Known for her tireless work ethic and her ability to turn clients into lifelong friends, she became a familiar and trusted presence in the community. Many remember her as a legend and the one who helped them into the homes where their lives unfolded. She was proud to sell Scott County by the yard, helping generations of families find their place in the community.

At home, Alma found joy in her vegetable garden and loved tending to her yard, especially her flowers, which she cared for with the same spirit she brought to every part of her life. To her husband of 66 years, she was affectionately known as his "Lady Bug," a name that reflected both her warmth and her lively spirit.

In addition to her husband, Alma is survived by her sons, Dennis Wayne (Melissa) Hopkins, Richard Ellis (Sherri) Hopkins, and David Christopher (Dawn) Hopkins; grandchildren, Erika (Matthew) Brewer, Emily Rowekamp, Jacob Hopkins, Isabella Hopkins, Devin (Pete) Pritchett, and Luke Hopkins; and great-grandchildren, Willow and Raikkonen Brewer, and Barrett and Olivia Pritchett. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, William Wayne Holley.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Johnson's Funeral Home, conducted by Richard Hopkins and Sam Glenn. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Lexington, KY. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
